Born in Taiwan, Fong Ling has been interested in art since the early days of her youth. 7 years ago, when her son introduced her to pastel, she fell in love with the media immediately, and she has been devoting herself to the study of pastel painting ever since.

She has studied with many local and nationally famous pastel masters, and finds subject material for her art from many sources. Fong Ling's pastel paintings have been widely accepted by Hawaii and national juried exhibitions, including "Artists of Hawaii 2000", the Association of Hawaii Artists, Windward Artists Guild, Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce Annual Art Competition, Impact Artists Gallery National Pastel Exhibition, La Fond Galleries National Juried Pastel Competition, and pastel societies of North Florida, New Mexico, Oregon, the Northwest, Great Lakes and Connecticut, as well as the International Association of Pastel Societies national show. She has won many awards from a variety of exhibitions.
